Anderson Soares
Anderson Soares was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and has spent the
last 14 years djing professionally. Still only 29 years old, he
has undeniably become South America's #1 soulful house DJ and
producer. Anderson spent many
years working in record stores and some time in the international
department of the East West label, but it is in the djs booth
of Brazil's top clubs that he cut his teeth and learnt what has
now become his art.
A specialist in house and garage,
Anderson has always held true to his latin roots as well as flirting
with the influences of jazz, funk, disco, RnB, Brazilian, Afro
and any deep and soulful sound, from the rare classic to the most
up to date killers, in an effort to captivate the dancefloor and
make them do just that - dance!
Anderson Soares is still, surprisingly,
somewhat of an unknown quantity outside of his native Brazil.
However, he has made some memorable appearances internationally
in Miami, Washington, Houston, New York, London, Huddersfield,
Frankfurt and at clubs like Red, Andalu, Filter 14, Cargo, Notting
Hill Arts Club, Bar Rumba and Club Non. Having had a regular radio
show for almost a decade, Anderson is currently at the controls
of the Night Sessions show on Sao Paulo's Energia 97FM, without
a doubt the Brazil's most influential and trend-setting station.
In 2000, he signed a record deal
with South America's biggest independent record company: Trama.
The following year he released the critically acclaimed mix cd
'House Essentials', one of the highest-selling house compilations
ever to be released in this content. More recently, Anderson Soares
has been raising eyebrows with some fantastic production work.
His first remix was in 1998 for Curtis & Moore ('Never Stop',
Soulshine Records, USA). He has followed up with Paula Lima 'Sai
Daqui Tristeza' on London's Mr. Bongo Records, Patricia Marx 'Despertar'
and Jair Oliveira 'Bom Dia Anjo' both on Nova Vida Records, Brazil.
He just completed his debut album
on Trama, Anderson Soares Project "Muito Soul", with
colaborations of Patricia Marx, Paula Lima, Jair Oliveira, Mia
T. among others. Anderson Soares is continuing to wow crowds worldwide
with his uniquely latin spirit and soul - and by the looks of
it, he is hotly tipped to continue doing so for many more years
to come.

John Kumahara
John describes his style as "soulful and eclectic"; "It's
all about the music". And music has been a nurturing force
in his life from as far back as he can remember. "I was raised
on music, it is like breathing to me." On any given night John
carries his crowd through an audio journey of deep house, soulful
vocals, afro-latin beats and old school classics. John's Djing has
been seen and heard at many parties and clubs in Toronto. Most notably
founding UpRoc a weekly residency that played host to such talent
as DJ Spinna, Jazzy Jeff, Jihad Muhammad and Peanut Butter Wolf.
.
Although he has been Djing longer, his real passion lies in producing.
In the early days John was producing for local hip hop mc's. However
it was his love of soul and house music that would truly ignite
his passion. Inspired by Masters at Work, Joe Claussel and Ron Trent.
John began creating music using his bedroom as a makeshift recording
studio. The results of these early sessions led to some amazing
material. The positive response to his work inspired John to release
his own music on his own label.
Iwanai
Music was formed with the release of John and Martino's deep
keyboard track, Paradise in the Sahara. This song became an underground
classic appearing on charts and play lists around the world. Paradise
in the Sahara successfully kicked off the label and turned on
listeners to the soulful sounds of John Kumahara.
John believes in the purity of music.
His thoughts on DJing
"It's not about the glitz and
the glamour, it's about the energy and the vibe - the joy on the
smiling faces looking back at you."

DJ Earon
As a Newark, NJ native, my passion
for music developed in the mid-1970?s when music included real
instruments and the Peech Boys were the hottest thing on the airwaves.
My cousin and I embarked on the club scene by visiting such places
as the Legendary Paradise Garage, Docks, Sensations and Club Zanzibar.
Witnessing the turntable genius of Tony Humphries, Shep Pettibone,
Larry Patterson, Larry Levan and Tee Scott, I decided that this
was what I wanted to do. So, like most aspiring dj?s, I started
with my family?s turntable and built a system from there. Going
to the clubs and listening to 107.5 WBLS and 98.7 Kiss-FM Mastermixes
made me want to develop this craft at a ferocious pace. By purchasing
records that I wanted to hear and a pieced together headphone,
DJ EARON was born.
With a renewed sense of purpose,
I am determined to make my contribution by playing music that
will soothe the soul. Eventually, I want to produce and create
music that will carry us into the next phase of this underground
movement.
I have been blessed to play at the
following venues: Club Movement, Newark, NJ; Euphoria Café
(Thinksoul), Newark, NJ; Franks Lounge, Brooklyn, NY; Together
In Spirit, New York City; G-Spot, Newark, NJ; BKNY, Brooklyn,
NY and Sunday Session, NYC, NY. Feeling the need to play more
innovative music, and the gone but not forgotten classics, I contribute
to a successful monthly underground party called ?Deliverance,
? located in Newark, NJ. Where people can come dance, enjoy themselves
and release all negative energy.
With parties like Shelter, Dance
Ritual, Thinksoul and Club Movement the underground dance scene
is stronger than ever. Witnessing the soulful sounds of Blaze,
and their impact on the underground scene for the last 15 years
(to the rich mixes of Timmy Regisford and others) I have come
to the realization that music is my way of life. My desire to
learn the many aspects of this business is great. I am constantly
striving to enhance my deejaying techniques along with my mixing
abilities; this will allow me to showcase my skills and establish
a residency where my sound can be heard.

DJ Camacho
Camacho, as he is affectionately
known, is best described by his fellow peers, Cookie - his wife
and kids, from his homeland in New Jersey as "the International
DJ", who's been, there seen it, and done it. With more than
a thirty year span of spinning records, that's got to be one of
the longest records for any club jock hasn't it? "When I'm
not working, I make a point of going to check out other DJ's.
It keeps me upfront and I like to support others out there. So,
while there are plenty of people who still come and hear me play,
I'll keep on working", he says warmly with a passion in his
voice that very strong for the music.
Apart from working along side the who's who of legendary jocks
Stateside, David has been continuously producing records too.
Since 1990, when his first mix with fellow homeboy Kerri Chandler,
on the classic 'My My Lover' by Dee Dee Brave (Champion Records)
peaked, in clubs across New York and Jersey. It even gained a
worthy UK release which for Camacho, cemented his decision to
do a solo follow-up, 'The Camacho' EP which appeared on the now
defunct NuGroove label.
To date his prodction credits can be found cuts by Michael Watford
(So Into You), Gerideau (Take A Stand For Love), Wanda Rogers
(Prove Your Love), and many other quintessential House gems of
old. Momentarily, back off the mixes he dished up for the recent
vocal single by Gerideau, entitled 'Bring It Back To Love', he
and production partner of his NJ based Wake Up record label have
been collaborating with DJ/producer amigo Benji Candelario, and
artistes such as Cassio Ware and Kenya Travers in and around his
heavyweight DJ schedule - his classics and song loaded sets are
always a breath of fresh air to be heard when he guests in London.
Places like the Loft, father to Paul 'Trouble' Anderson are "one
of his favourite clubs" and as he also put "one of few
places that plays House music properly alongside Classic".
Truly, an all round loveable guy Camacho's on the one with plenty
of Nu Yorican Soul.

DJ ?west (Kwest)
I began collecting records in 1982 at the age of 12, and what
began as what can only be diagnosed as a "Vinyl fetish"
for dance music and rap became a lifetime career at the ripe old
age of 14 when I experienced my first "back in the day"
style house party where I discovered the DJ. Since then I have
experienced much that the music industry has to offer, from voiceover
recording for feature length films, on-air radio, record label
liaising, world circuit tours, remixing and audio production,
international television exposure, record store management, record
pool operation, nightclub management and so on.
Now, armed with over 30,000 records in my collection, I travel
the globe in an effort to inspire the countless masses through
this labor of love, combining skill, confidence, style and professionalism
to yield what I believe sets me apart not only in attitude and
skill but also in spirit.
I have traveled extensively, both locally and abroad (See attached
performance listing) and wish to increase my momentum through
proactive representation and strategic marketing strategies including
not only local residencies and out of town performances, but vinyl
and mix CD releases or original product as well as remixes of
other artist's tracks. Over the years I have built a rapport with
many major and independent labels including Tidy Trax, IHR, Catalyst
, Ninjatune, Subliminal, 2Wars & A Revolution, Moonshine,
etc, and receive exclusive advance product directly from major
players including Bad Boy Bill, Joey Beltram, Dave Dub, Frankie
Vega, Keoki, CZR, Jason Jinxx, Trona, Robbie Rivera, Rick Garcia,
Uberzone, and many others. I have been spinning for over 19 years,
and currently play Breaks, Drum & Bass, House, Tribal, NRG,
Techno and Progressive.
Today, everybody wants to be a DJ and to say competition for gigs
and representation is fierce would be a woeful understatement
. My hope is to continue carving out my place in what used to
be a niche market and has since exploded into a global phenomenon.
